John H. Westerbeke Jr., Chairman

Jack is the Chairman of Westerbeke Corporation. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Physics from Middlebury College and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Harvard University. The reasons why he joined Westerbeke: “I was helping my Dad since I was seven. I couldn’t let him down.”

 

Gregory Haidemenos, President and CEO

Greg began his career with Westerbeke in 1996 as a Controller. In 1999, he was elected Chief Financial Officer, in 2004 he was promoted to Chief Financial & Operating Officer, and in May 2017 he was appointed President and CEO. Greg is responsible for all corporate functions and strategic planning for the Company. He holds a bachelor's degree in Accounting from Bryant College and a master’s degree in Management from the University of Rhode Island. The reasons why he joined Westerbeke: “opportunity to advance my career,” and “to be a part of a small, family-run business.”

 

Thomas Sutherland, Director of Sales and Marketing

Tom has the administrative responsibility for all Corporate Sales and Marketing functions. Since joining the Westerbeke Corporation in 1989, Tom has held positions of increasing responsibility including Manager of Service and Technical Support and National Sales Manager. Tom assumed his current position in November 1999. Prior to joining Westerbeke, he worked as Operations Manager for a Westerbeke Distributor in Florida. The reasons why he joined Westerbeke: "I couldn't pass up the opportunity to work with such a highly respected company.”

 

Glenn Amber, Director of Engineering

Glenn joined Westerbeke in 2005 as a Senior Project Engineer. In 2008 he was promoted to Chief Engineer. Glenn is responsible for guiding our advanced technology R&D efforts as well as on-going general engineering and continuous improvement activities. Glenn holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from UMass and a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from URI. The reasons why he joined Westerbeke: "It was the rare opportunity to work in a hands-on R&D position with a small company that is on the cutting edge of engine and generator technology."

 

Remberto Giel, Plant Manager

Remberto joined Westerbeke in 1988 and was appointed Plant Manager in 2004. Prior to becoming Plant Manager, he held various positions with continuous growth in the manufacturing sector. His education includes a diploma in metalworking from John F Kennedy Tech in Aruba. Later he earned a certificate from NETTS as a Diesel Technician. Remberto also holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from University of Phoenix-Boston Campus. Born and raised in Aruba, he spent his early years in the family fishing business. “Still being involved in the marine industry feels close to home and makes Westerbeke the perfect fit and the opportunity to work with industry leaders.”

Robert Westerbeke, International Sales Manager

Robert worked in the Engineering Department as a draftsman as well as the Documentation Department while earning a BA in technical journalism. After working in Japan and later serving in the USAF for several years in Europe, he returned to Westerbeke in 1997 and joined the sales team with a primary focus on the international side of the business, leading to his current role. "Returning to Westerbeke was the perfect opportunity to support the family business while fulfilling my penchant to travel."
